Special Response Battalion (SRB)-5 recovered 103 live crude bombs beside a litchi orchard in the Aduburi area under Kashiadanga Police Station in Rajshahi city.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from SRB-5’s CPSC carried out the raid around 2am on the night of Tuesday (October 21) and recovered the bombs.

SRB said an operational team led by Company Commander Lieutenant Al Mumen received information from a confidential source around midnight on Tuesday that a suspicious, abandoned cement sack was lying on the eastern side of the Aduburi litchi orchard under Kashiadanga Police Station.

During the subsequent raid, the team recovered 64 live crude bombs wrapped in red adhesive tape and 39 wrapped in black adhesive tape from the abandoned sack. A general diary has been filed with Kashiadanga Police Station in this connection.

SRB handed the bombs over to Kashiadanga police. Police said the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) bomb disposal unit would come and destroy them.
