Translated by Desk Report

Islamic speaker Hafez Zubayer Ahmad Tashrif has apologised to his father amid recent public debate and criticism over family matters. Expressing a desire to care for his father and live together with family members, he said he wanted to resolve their problems within the family.
Tashrif made the remarks in a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday (28 October). In the same video, his father also apologised for remarks he had made in an earlier video and wished his son well.
Tashrif said he had asked his father for forgiveness and hoped his father had forgiven him. He said he wanted to support his father physically and emotionally, as well as financially.
Noting that family relationships can involve anger and hurt feelings alongside love, Tashrif claimed that the resurfacing of some old matters had caused the family distress. He alleged that attempts had been made at various times to obtain videos from both him and his father.
Tashrif said he had come to meet his father voluntarily and had not been forced to do so. He also claimed that his father had not been paid or pressured to come. He said they hoped the whole family could live together.
Tashrif urged people not to spread malicious claims over the family matter. Asking everyone to pray for his father, he said he wanted to care for and support him throughout his life.
In the video, Tashrif’s father said he believed he had made a mistake by speaking publicly in a video. He apologised to the nation and said he did not want to make any further statements against his son.
Referring to his son’s popularity, he alleged that he, too, had faced hostile comments and verbal abuse from various people. However, he prayed for his son’s success and standing to grow further.
