Vice-chancellor’s directives on education, research and infrastructure

Speaking as chief guest, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam stressed academic discipline and students’ role on the global stage.

“We want to implement an academic calendar quickly to establish academic discipline at the university and eliminate disparities in infrastructure. We have also taken steps to ensure coordinated infrastructure development for the faculties of law and business under a new master plan,” he said.

Calling for efforts to strengthen the country’s position in global climate diplomacy and geopolitics, the vice-chancellor added: “University education and research must be closely aligned with national policy. I call on faculties and departments to organise seminars of this kind in line with national policy. Students must be equipped with the skills to provide legal and data-based support in important forums such as global climate conferences or international water-sharing negotiations.”
