Rajshahi divisional commissioner stands released

Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Yusuf Ali, an additional secretary, has been released from his post with immediate effect and attached to the ministry. He left Rajshahi yesterday, Tuesday (20 October), after the transfer order was issued.

The Ministry of Public Administration transferred him through an order signed on Tuesday (20 October) by Jeti Pru, deputy secretary of its Senior Appointments-1 branch.

Yusuf Ali left Rajshahi on Tuesday after receiving the transfer order. Rezaul Alam Sarker has been given charge as acting divisional commissioner.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, the flight carrying Prime Minister Tarique Rahman landed at Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi. After a public rally, he left Rajshahi on the same aircraft at 7pm. While seeing him off at the airport, Divisional Commissioner Yusuf Ali breached protocol by leaning towards the prime minister and stepping forward slightly as they shook hands.

He was transferred to the ministry following the incident.
